From Rejection to Restoration

At just 17 years old, Esther found herself pregnant while preparing for her final secondary school examinations. Instead of receiving support, she faced rejection from her school, pressure from her family to terminate the pregnancy, and uncertainty about her future. When labour began unexpectedly at seven months, Esther delivered Baby Khloe at home before being rushed to Kawempe National Referral Hospital, where her tiny daughter, weighing 1.5 kilograms, was admitted to the neonatal unit.

It was there that Esther met Isabelle and the Mama Tulia Ministries team. What began as a hospital visit grew into a life changing relationship. Mama Tulia supported Esther with food, medication, home visits, and ongoing encouragement. Through the ministry, she joined Bible studies, learned paper bag making, started earning an income, and found a community that believed in her. Today, Esther looks to the future with renewed hope, confident that motherhood has not ended her dreams of returning to school.
