Food Relief

Through our Manna Program, Mama Tulia provides monthly food packages to mothers with premature babies. Nutrient-rich food helps mothers with breast milk production, which is essential for their preemie's growth.

Manna Program (Food Relief)

Mama Tulia provides monthly food support to mothers of premature babies who often struggle to afford basic needs such as food, transport, and medical care. By meeting this immediate need, we help ensure both mother and baby receive the nutrition required for recovery, breastfeeding, and healthy growth during a critical stage of life.

One way we offer food relief is through the Manna Program, in partnership with Parkway Baptist Church, CODA and other individual funders. The Manna Program is inspired by the biblical story of manna, where provision was given to the Israelites, reminding us of stewardship and provision. The program provides monthly food packages containing essentials such as posho, rice, beans, sugar, cooking oil, and soap.

Alongside this support, mothers are encouraged to build a saving culture by setting aside at least 2,000 UGX daily into wooden lock boxes. This helps them develop financial discipline and begin planning beyond daily survival, which is a significant shift for many of the mothers we serve.

We also work closely with each mother to identify future goals and savings dreams, including starting small businesses such as shoe selling, charcoal trade, tailoring, or salon services. These savings journeys are designed to help mothers transition from dependence to income generation and long-term stability.

Through this holistic approach, 180 mothers have benefited from the Manna Program, gaining both immediate relief and a pathway toward economic empowerment and self-reliance.
